This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer based in Brazil. This is a hands-on engineering opportunity focused on developing high-performance actuation and precision drive systems for advanced robotic applications. You will take ownership across the product lifecycle, from mechanical architecture and engineering analysis through CAD, prototyping, validation, and production readiness. The role combines deep mechanical engineering expertise with practical experimentation and iterative hardware development. You will work with advanced materials and manufacturing specialists to turn innovative technologies into reliable, manufacturable designs. Close collaboration with customer engineering teams will be essential to ensure successful mechanical, electrical, packaging, and control integration. The environment offers significant technical ownership and the opportunity to influence how sophisticated robotic systems move and perform. It is an ideal role for an engineer who enjoys solving complex mechanical problems and seeing designs progress from concept to real-world hardware. Design compact, high-performance rotary and linear actuators , including harmonic or strain-wave, planetary, cycloidal, and other advanced drive architectures. Own mechanical and precision-drive designs throughout the development lifecycle, from concept and architecture through prototyping, validation, production readiness, and customer integration . Apply first-principles engineering, including kinematics, statics, dynamics, and materials science , to make sound architecture and design decisions. Compare alternative concepts through analytical calculations, engineering trade studies, simulations, and physical testing. Build, test, and refine prototypes to improve torque density, efficiency, durability, manufacturability, packaging, and overall performance . Collaborate with materials and manufacturing engineers to incorporate advanced materials and fabrication processes into practical mechanical solutions. Work directly with customer engineering teams to ensure drive systems meet mechanical, electrical, packaging, and control-interface requirements. Develop detailed 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, bills of materials, assembly documentation , and other manufacturing and integration documentation. Plan and execute verification testing, analyze results, identify root causes, and iterate designs based on real-world performance. Participate in technical design reviews and support design verification, system integration, and successful hardware deployment. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics , or a closely related engineering discipline. At least 3 years of professional experience designing electromechanical actuators, gear systems, precision drive mechanisms, or comparable mechanical systems. Strong understanding of kinematics, statics, dynamics, mechanical design principles, and materials behavior . Demonstrated knowledge of precision actuators, gearing, or mechanical power-transmission systems. Proficiency with modern 3D CAD software and commonly used mechanical simulation or engineering analysis tools. Hands-on experience building, machining, assembling, and testing mechanical or electromechanical prototypes . Ability to take mechanical concepts beyond CAD and contribute directly to physical validation, troubleshooting, and design iteration . Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make engineering decisions based on calculations, testing, and data. Ability to work collaboratively across engineering disciplines and communicate effectively with technical stakeholders. Nice to have: Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline focused on machine design, dynamics, robotics, or mechatronics . 5+ years of experience designing actuators, gear systems, or prec
