This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Staff Quality Assurance Engineer based in United States. This is a high-impact staff-level engineering role focused on elevating quality across a modern, distributed SaaS product environment. You will own automated testing strategy and frameworks across multiple product teams and critical customer journeys. The role combines hands-on coding, test architecture, quality enablement, and cross-functional technical leadership. You will help shift quality ownership directly into engineering while building reliable, measurable testing practices. A major focus will be using AI, APIs, and MCP-based tooling to make complex testing faster and more repeatable. You will influence engineering practices across teams without acting as a manual testing gatekeeper. This is an opportunity to shape a quality engineering practice from the ground up and deliver measurable improvements in product reliability. Own the automated testing strategy and frameworks across the UI product, initially focusing on high-risk resident onboarding flows before expanding coverage to additional product areas. Build critical-user-flow coverage into engineering delivery pipelines so automated testing is owned and maintained by development teams. Establish a risk-weighted registry of critical flows and create live dashboards measuring test coverage, screen coverage, and relevant production traffic. Develop and promote an AI-first approach to quality engineering, using Claude, MCP-based tooling, APIs, CLIs, and direct data access to automate complex and repetitive testing scenarios. Modernize integration testing by replacing manual partner verification with API-driven automation and addressing environment and testability gaps. Coach engineers, product managers, and stakeholders on quality practices, embedding testing into product design and code review rather than relying on downstream manual validation. Lead the Quality Enablement practice by identifying and prioritizing tooling, infrastructure, and system-testability improvements across engineering teams. Establish durable quality guardrails, including CI coverage targets, deployment-gate health monitoring, flaky-test reduction, and escaped-defect tracking. Partner across engineering, platform, product, and leadership teams to improve testing capabilities and make quality outcomes measurable. Use data and production signals to identify quality trends, reduce defects reaching production, and continuously improve engineering reliability. Requirements: Staff-level engineering experience with a strong track record of designing, coding, and owning automated testing frameworks across unit, integration, contract, browser, and end-to-end testing layers. Quality engineering must be a core area of expertise and professional focus, with demonstrated experience building sophisticated automated testing systems rather than primarily performing manual QA. Strong programming skills with AWS and Node/TypeScript, plus the ability to work comfortably across distributed, service-oriented systems and service boundaries. Experience with modern testing technologies such as Jest, Playwright, contract testing, API testing, and automated integration testing. Strong interest and practical experience using AI to improve engineering workflows, with enthusiasm for building agent workflows, skills, and MCP-based tooling. Exceptional communication and coaching abilities, with the ability to influence engineers, product managers, technical leaders, and non-technical stakeholders across multiple teams. Demonstrated autonomy and ownership, including the ability to identify ambiguous quality problems, establish priorities, and deliver measurable improvements with limited process overhead. Ability to work a consistent 8:00 AM–5:00 PM EST schedule. Comfortable working in a remote-first environment with reliable high-speed intern
