Director of Technology

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director of Technology based in the United States. This is a senior technology leadership opportunity focused on shaping enterprise SaaS strategy, architecture, engineering execution, and technical innovation. The role combines executive-level technology leadership with hands-on involvement in architecture, system design, and major engineering decisions. You will translate business priorities into scalable technology roadmaps supporting growth, cybersecurity, operational excellence, and product strategy. You will lead a globally distributed engineering organization of approximately 10–15 technology professionals while fostering a culture of accountability and innovation. The position also offers significant exposure to AI/ML, Generative AI, Agentic AI, cloud-native platforms, and distributed systems. Working closely with executive stakeholders, customers, investors, and strategic partners, you will connect technology decisions to commercial outcomes. This fully remote contract role is suited to a seasoned technology leader who can operate confidently across strategy, engineering, product, and business growth. Define and execute the technology strategy and roadmap in alignment with business objectives, product priorities, scalability, cybersecurity, revenue growth, and operational excellence. Act as a trusted technology advisor to executive leadership, providing guidance on technology investments and ensuring measurable business value. Architect, build, and scale enterprise-grade SaaS platforms using cloud-native technologies, distributed systems, microservices, APIs, data platforms, and scalable application architectures. Lead architecture reviews, technical design discussions, and strategic engineering decisions while maintaining high standards for security, reliability, scalability, and maintainability. Monitor and evaluate emerging technologies, particularly Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Generative AI, and Agentic AI, and assess opportunities for their practical application. Oversee the development and evolution of commercial software products from concept through market delivery, translating customer and business requirements into effective technical solutions. Lead and develop a globally distributed technology organization of approximately 10–15 professionals, mentoring technical leaders and engineers and supporting their professional growth. Establish strong engineering standards, development methodologies, communication practices, and continuous improvement initiatives. Partner with product, business, CEO, and CFO stakeholders to align technology strategy with commercial objectives and customer needs. Support enterprise software sales through technical expertise, customer presentations, product demonstrations, and communication of complex technology concepts in clear business terms. Participate in fundraising and strategic growth activities, including venture capital and private equity discussions, investor presentations, technology due diligence, and strategic technology assessments. Contribute, where applicable, to IPO readiness and public-market preparation initiatives. Requirements: 10+ years of experience in technology, software engineering, or related fields, with substantial leadership responsibility. Progressive experience in technology leadership, software architecture, engineering management, or technology management. Demonstrated success architecting and scaling enterprise-grade SaaS or commercial software platforms. Strong technical understanding of AI/ML, with exposure to Generative AI, LLMs, Agentic AI, or AI platforms. Proven experience leading engineering teams and establishing scalable, high-quality software development practices.
