This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Profee Coding Specialist based in the United States. This remote role is an opportunity to contribute directly to accurate, compliant healthcare coding and revenue cycle operations. You’ll work independently across one or more professional fee specialties, applying detailed knowledge of medical coding standards. The position combines clinical documentation review, coding accuracy, and reimbursement awareness in a quality-focused environment. You’ll translate medical documentation into precise ICD-10-CM, CPT®, HCPCS, and related codes. Your work will help ensure appropriate reimbursement while maintaining high standards for privacy, compliance, and ethical coding. The role suits a detail-oriented professional who is comfortable managing productivity targets and working independently from home. It also offers the opportunity to apply and strengthen your expertise across diverse healthcare specialties. Provide professional fee coding services across one or more medical specialties, accurately assigning ICD-10-CM, CPT®, HCPCS, and applicable coding classifications. Review clinical documentation and assign diagnosis and procedure codes to the highest level of specificity supported by the record. Calculate professional fee evaluation and management (E/M) levels using established coding methodologies and identify critical care cases based on patient acuity. Interpret and apply current coding guidelines while assessing how documentation affects code assignment and reimbursement. Support client coding requirements across specialties such as primary care, cardiology, vascular surgery, orthopedics, general surgery, neurology, oncology, and other professional fee services. Work independently in a remote environment while maintaining required productivity, accuracy, and quality standards. Use electronic medical record, billing, and related healthcare systems to complete coding activities efficiently. Protect personal health information and confidential data by following applicable privacy, security, compliance, and internal policies. Maintain professional and ethical coding practices consistent with recognized industry standards and organizational compliance requirements. Participate in required training and continuing education to maintain coding knowledge and credentials. Maintain required professional certification through an approved coding organization. Communicate effectively with colleagues and leadership, coordinate priorities, analyze documentation, make sound decisions, and meet deadlines. Perform additional coding or operational responsibilities as assigned by leadership. Requirements: Active coding certification through AAPC, such as CPC or COC , or AHIMA, such as CCS or CCS-P , is required. At least 2 years of professional coding experience is required, preferably with professional fee coding. Working knowledge of medical coding systems and standards, including ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT®, and HCPCS . Experience with healthcare systems such as electronic medical records and billing platforms. Strong understanding of documentation requirements, coding guidelines, reimbursement implications, and accurate code assignment. Ability to independently manage coding responsibilities in a remote work environment while meeting established productivity and quality expectations. Ability to consistently maintain approximately 95% or higher accuracy and quality scores , as required for the role. Strong attention to detail, analytical ability, sound judgment, and the capacity to manage multiple deadlines. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Outlook , including basic spreadsheet formulas, email management, and virtual meeting coordination.
