This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Software QA Test Engineer based in the United States. This is a hands-on technical leadership opportunity focused on ensuring the quality and reliability of smart energy products. You will lead a team of test engineers responsible for test development, automation, system testing, and issue triage. The role spans frontend and backend applications, software, hardware, operating systems, and network environments. You will establish effective QA processes, tools, documentation, and training to help teams validate products efficiently. Working closely with software development teams, you will investigate failures, drive bug resolution, and champion strong engineering practices. Lead and support a team of test engineers responsible for developing tests, automation, and comprehensive validation of smart energy products. Define and strengthen testing processes, methodologies, tools, and best practices to ensure consistent and efficient quality assurance. Develop and maintain automated test suites and supporting scripts and tools, including solutions built with Python. Plan and execute system-level testing across frontend and backend applications, software, hardware, operating systems, and network environments. Build and maintain network environments required for system and integration testing. Perform first-level triage of issues discovered during testing, debugging failures and identifying potential root causes. Work closely with software development teams to communicate defects, track issues, and drive timely bug resolution. Establish and maintain test procedures, technical documentation, and quality standards. Ensure the test team has the appropriate processes, tools, knowledge, and training to validate products within agreed timelines. Represent quality control throughout the product lifecycle and help ensure releases meet established quality requirements. Champion best-in-class testing practices and identify opportunities to improve QA processes, automation, and overall engineering effectiveness. Collaborate effectively with technical teams and communicate testing results, risks, and issues clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field. 5+ years of professional software testing or quality assurance experience. Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies and quality assurance practices. Proven experience developing automated test suites and testing tools. Programming experience with Python . Experience testing both frontend and backend applications. Hands-on experience with UNIX and/or Linux environments. Ability to debug and troubleshoot software applications, hardware, operating systems, and test failures. Experience with networking concepts and network-based testing environments. Working knowledge of Git and Jira . Strong technical documentation skills, including experience creating test procedures and related QA documentation. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues. Ability to work effectively as both a hands-on engineer and technical team lead. Willingness to challenge existing processes, introduce improvements, and champion high-quality engineering practices.
