This is a senior engineering leadership opportunity focused on securing large-scale AI infrastructure and cloud platforms. You will lead a distributed team of senior security and infrastructure engineers responsible for eliminating entire classes of risk through engineering. The role combines people leadership, technical strategy, security architecture, and delivery across complex cloud-native environments. You will shape the roadmap for security control planes, foundational security services, and increasingly autonomous security operations. Success is measured by meaningful risk reduction, operational resilience, adoption, and sustainable engineering outcomes rather than ticket volume. Lead, coach, and develop a distributed team of senior security and infrastructure engineers, owning hiring, performance, career development, and team growth. Build a strong and sustainable engineering organization with sufficient depth to avoid dependence on individual contributors or heroics. Establish technical direction and roadmap priorities for security control planes, foundational security services, and the evolution toward autonomous security operations. Translate high-stakes, ambiguous security mandates into measurable outcomes, sequenced initiatives, clear ownership, and sustainable delivery plans. Organize teams around business and technical outcomes, assigning the smallest effective groups and clear owners to each initiative. Establish and maintain high engineering standards covering tested code, observability, operational readiness, documentation, and responsible ownership of AI-assisted development. Measure success through the risks eliminated, reliability improved, adoption achieved, and business impact delivered rather than simply through completed tickets. Communicate complex security risks, uncertainties, trade-offs, and measurable themes to executive stakeholders in a clear and actionable manner. Build strong partnerships across platform engineering, SRE, networking, infrastructure, and broader security organizations to deliver initiatives through influence as well as direct leadership. Help establish scalable security capabilities that become practical, widely adopted internal products and paved paths for engineering teams. Foster an environment of continuous improvement, transparent planning, open reflection, and sustainable engineering practices. Requirements: Typically 7+ years of engineering management experience within a broader career of approximately 14+ years across software engineering, SRE, infrastructure, security engineering, or related technical disciplines. Demonstrated success hiring, developing, and retaining high-caliber engineers, including specialists with deeper technical expertise than your own. Strong technical credibility in infrastructure, distributed systems, cloud, or security engineering , with the ability to review architecture, challenge technical assumptions, and evaluate engineering estimates. Proven ability to take ambiguous, high-impact technical mandates and turn them into measurable, sequenced delivery. Working knowledge of cloud-native architectures, Kubernetes, identity and access management, policy enforcement, and vulnerability management . Experience delivering through teams and stakeholders outside your direct reporting structure, using influence and strong partnerships to achieve results.
