Health Safety and Environmental Specialist

Our partner is looking for a Health Safety and Environmental Specialist based in the United States. This remote role is responsible for strengthening health, safety, and environmental performance across multiple client sites. You will help develop, implement, and improve HSE programs that support regulatory compliance, risk reduction, and operational excellence. The position combines field-based safety expertise with training, compliance monitoring, incident investigation, and data analysis. You will work with facility teams, clients, government agencies, and HSE leaders to identify risks and drive effective corrective actions. The role offers broad exposure to diverse operating environments and requires an adaptable, proactive approach to safety leadership. You will play an important part in building a strong safety culture while helping teams understand and consistently apply HSE requirements. With approximately 25% travel, including potential international travel, this is an opportunity to make a measurable impact across a multi-site organization. Implement and maintain HSE programs, procedures, and practices across multiple client sites in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations, client requirements, and organizational standards. Evaluate existing and new HSE programs, identify gaps, and recommend improvements that strengthen compliance, risk reduction, and continuous improvement. Train facility employees and new hires on HSE programs, policies, procedures, workplace requirements, and safe operating practices. Monitor regulatory and operational compliance, communicate findings and deficiencies, and support management in developing and implementing corrective actions. Analyze HSE data, trends, incidents, and performance indicators to identify preventive measures and improve safety programs and business processes. Coordinate with government agencies, client HSE leadership, facility teams, and internal HSE stakeholders to support risk mitigation and compliance initiatives. Respond to HSE-related employee and client concerns while effectively prioritizing competing needs across multiple locations. Review accident and injury reports, support appropriate investigations, and help establish corrective and preventive actions to reduce recurrence. Conduct or support safety inspections and reinforce HSE policies, procedures, and guidelines across assigned sites. Adapt training, communication, and HSE approaches to different operational environments, cultures, and site-specific requirements. Promote a strong HSE culture by influencing, motivating, and guiding employees and facility teams toward safer work practices. Perform additional duties and HSE-related responsibilities as required. Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent education required. At least 2 years of experience in HSE-related work, including experience in custodial, groundskeeping, facilities, or similar operational environments. At least 3 years of experience supporting HSE programs, regulatory compliance, safety inspections, incident investigations, and employee training in a multi-site environment is preferred. An ASP or similar safety certification is preferred. Demonstrate fundamental knowledge of federal, state, and local health, safety, and environmental regulations. Possess strong communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Ability to influence, motivate, and collaborate effectively with facility teams, clients, government agencies, and other stakeholders. Demonstrate the ability to support organizational change and promote a proactive, safety-focused workplace culture. Ability to develop and deliver HSE training using different methods to ensure employees understand and apply required practices.
