This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Editor, ASI based in United States. This is a high-impact editorial role focused on advancing general aviation safety through compelling, accurate, and accessible content. You will shape safety messaging across digital and print publications, video scripts, newsletters, social media, and other communications. The role combines hands-on writing and editing with editorial leadership, strategic planning, and project management. You will draw on aviation knowledge and flying experience to identify meaningful stories and translate complex topics into engaging content. You will also mentor freelance contributors, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and help strengthen audience engagement. This is an opportunity to influence aviation safety awareness while contributing to a mission-driven organization. Produce original, insightful, and engaging content on general aviation safety topics across publications, video scripts, research reports, newsletters, press releases, social media, and promotional materials. Write monthly safety articles for aviation-focused magazines while ensuring all content is accurate, well researched, timely, accessible, and aligned with the organization’s safety mission. Provide editorial support for leadership and communications teams on public-facing general aviation safety topics, helping shape informed industry conversations. Generate story ideas using personal flying experience, aeronautical knowledge, industry relationships, and awareness of major issues affecting the general aviation community. Apply strong news judgment to evaluate potential stories, determine appropriate angles, and identify the resources required for effective coverage. Manage content release calendars and promotional schedules, ensuring editorial assets are coordinated and distributed effectively across relevant channels. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative content strategies that strengthen audience engagement, support membership growth, and contribute to broader organizational goals. Help shape editorial direction, content priorities, and outreach initiatives while maintaining consistent editorial standards across platforms. Recruit, onboard, coordinate, and manage freelance writers, providing clear direction, constructive feedback, and quality control. Mentor colleagues and contribute to a culture of continuous learning, editorial excellence, and professional development. Represent the organization in internal initiatives and, when required, at aviation events, conferences, forums, and industry conventions. Manage multiple editorial projects and deadlines while maintaining high standards of accuracy, creativity, and quality. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, or a related field, or significant equivalent professional experience. 5–10 years of experience in aviation writing, editing, journalism, or editorial quality management, supported by a strong portfolio demonstrating content leadership and project coordination. FAA Private Pilot Certificate with an instrument rating required. Strong knowledge of general aviation, aviation terminology, safety considerations, and issues affecting the industry. Exceptional writing, editing, storytelling, and verbal communication skills, with outstanding attention to detail and accuracy. Demonstrated ability to lead creative projects, mentor contributors or teams, and introduce innovative content approaches. Strong organizational and project management capabilities, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines. Experience collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams and external contributors. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, along with the ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and tools. Self-motivated, proactive, dependable
