This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Product Security Engineer based in the United States. This is a senior security engineering role focused on protecting complex, cloud-native products and platforms from evolving threats. You will operate across public cloud environments and physical data centers to identify vulnerabilities, reduce attack surfaces, and strengthen security architecture. The role combines hands-on engineering with strategic influence, requiring you to solve ambiguous problems and develop scalable security patterns. You will partner closely with product, infrastructure, and platform engineering teams to embed security into architecture and the software development lifecycle. A key focus will be network and cloud security, threat modeling, monitoring, automation, and secure connectivity across highly distributed environments. You will also act as a subject matter expert, mentor engineers, and influence security practices across organizational boundaries. This remote opportunity is ideal for an independent security professional who enjoys technical depth, cross-functional leadership, and building security solutions at scale. Design and evolve secure network and cloud architectures across hybrid environments, including AWS, GCP, Azure, and physical data centers. Assess network and cloud environments for security gaps, attack-surface exposure, control weaknesses, and opportunities for risk reduction. Architect scalable network connection patterns, segmentation strategies, traffic inspection architectures, and secure connectivity models that support business and product growth. Lead threat modeling activities focused on architecture, data flows, network connectivity, and platform services. Build scalable monitoring, alerting, and automation capabilities that identify and respond to network and cloud security risks. Evaluate the evolving threat landscape and business priorities to identify, prioritize, and execute the highest-impact security improvements. Establish secure-by-design architecture patterns and contribute to near- and medium-term strategic direction for network and cloud infrastructure security. Partner with product engineering, infrastructure, and platform teams to understand scaling requirements and translate them into practical security solutions. Facilitate alignment across teams, build consensus around complex security decisions, and communicate architectural direction to technical and non-technical stakeholders. Document technical decisions and security architecture through design documents, technical presentations, knowledge bases, and other engineering resources. Develop deep subject matter expertise in cloud security controls and serve as a trusted security advisor across the engineering organization. Leverage AI technologies where appropriate to improve security decision-making, workflows, automation, and team effectiveness. Mentor engineers and interns through pairing, design reviews, code reviews, and knowledge-sharing activities. Promote a strong security culture by sharing expertise, influencing engineering practices, and acting as a role model for secure development and architecture. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent professional experience. Deep networking expertise across hybrid environments, including public cloud and physical data centers, with strong knowledge of routing, segmentation, zone design, and traffic inspection. Strong cloud security experience, including the ability to identify gaps in security controls and coverage across hybrid cloud environments. Demonstrated experience designing secure, scalable connectivity patterns for SaaS, cloud-native, or distributed product environments. Strong understanding of TCP/IP, HTTP/S, DNS, TLS, and applied cryptography . Experience with AWS, GCP, and/or Azure
