This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director PB Coding & CDI based in United States. This is a senior healthcare operations leadership role overseeing professional billing coding and clinical documentation integrity across a complex health system. You will lead organization-wide programs that support coding accuracy, documentation quality, reimbursement integrity, and regulatory compliance. The role combines strategic leadership with operational oversight of coding, audit education, and PB CDI teams. You will establish standards, monitor performance, identify improvement opportunities, and ensure consistent processes across hospitals, clinics, and employed provider organizations. Strong collaboration with executives, physicians, nursing teams, coding and CDI professionals, and other stakeholders will be central to your success. You will also play a key role in developing talent through education, training, quality reviews, and continuous feedback. Establish, oversee, monitor, and continuously improve professional billing coding and PB CDI processes across the organization. Lead Professional Billing Coding, Coding Audit Education, and PB CDI operations, ensuring appropriate staffing, resource utilization, performance, and quality. Monitor coding accuracy, documentation integrity, audit outcomes, education requirements, and adherence to regulatory, operational, and reimbursement standards. Develop and deliver in-service education, formal training, quality reviews, and ongoing feedback to strengthen coding and documentation practices. Establish and execute policies, procedures, programs, and operational practices that support efficient and compliant coding and CDI operations. Identify process gaps and opportunities for continuous improvement, using performance data and audit findings to drive sustainable enhancements. Promote accurate diagnosis and procedure coding based on provider documentation and support appropriate reimbursement and reliable reporting of services. Provide leadership and guidance to coding and CDI teams, fostering accountability, professional development, and consistently high-quality work. Build strong consultative relationships with executives, managers, physicians, nursing professionals, coding and CDI teams, and other internal and external stakeholders. Communicate operational priorities, performance trends, quality findings, and improvement initiatives effectively across diverse stakeholder groups. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, management, or a related discipline from an accredited college or university; four years of relevant experience may substitute for the degree. Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) certification required. Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) certification preferred. Professional coding credentials such as CCS-P, CPC, CCS, or CPC-H preferred. At least 5 years of experience in a supervisory or leadership capacity. At least 8 years of experience in hospital or professional coding. Strong knowledge of professional billing coding, clinical documentation integrity, coding compliance, reimbursement requirements, and healthcare regulations. Demonstrated ability to oversee teams, manage operational priorities, evaluate quality, and allocate resources effectively. Strong experience developing and delivering coding education, audit feedback, training, and quality improvement initiatives. Excellent communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across clinical, administrative, and executive teams.
